Client: Thorntons
Context:
Thornton’s
has been one of the main names in chocolate for over 100 years in 1911, in
creating the finest of chocolates and truffles.
They have
made the worlds largest chocolate bar, the equivalent to 75,000 Thornton’s
chocolate blocks.
We are
connected to the NSPCC, and in Wales, every carrier bag that is sold for 5p, 4p
of it goes to the charity NSPCC.
However, despite
this, we have hit a slump and want to try and increase our sales by promoting
our product in a more efficient way.
Product
profile
Thornton’s
creates a wide range of chocolates to suit everyone, for any occasion. Hot
chocolate powders and hampers that make great gifts for friends and family. We supply chocolate that is suitable for
diabetic sufferers too.
Target
Market
Falls into 3
categories
7-15 year
olds: we have a selection of chocolates aimed at children.
15 – 30 year
olds: This can be anyone, a man buying a woman a gift for a birthday or
valentines day, to a woman just wanting to treat herself.
Occasions:
Valentines day, Easter, Birthday’s, Weddings, Christmas.
Creative
Requirements
We want to
create a new look that is fresh but also still keeps with its traditional
roots. We want to try and re invent Thornton’s and advertise what we are more.
TV Ads,
Magazines Ads, promotions, anything that will draw in our customers and new
customers as well. Our slogans in the past have been ‘Chocolate Heaven Since
1911’ and ‘The Art of The Chocolatier’
